I’ve been working in IT for a bit over twenty years. I started out doing infrastructure and operations work and gradually took on more responsibility around design, delivery, and technical direction.

I like to spend time fixing awkward problems, joining the dots between systems, and stopping small issues from becoming bigger ones later on. Some days that’s cloud platforms and automation. Other days it’s reviewing designs, unblocking teams, or pointing out where something probably won’t work in practice.

I’m currently a Director Consulting Expert at CGI, and before that I was a Principal Technologist at BJSS. The role sits somewhere between hands-on engineering and helping teams make technical decisions they can live with once things are in production.

This site is mostly where I write things down as I go. It’s a mix of experiments, notes, and the occasional reminder that some ideas sound better before you try them.
